Atlantic City Casinos Unite to Promote Responsible Gaming During Problem Gambling Awareness Month

In recognition of March’s Problem Gambling Awareness Month, the Atlantic City casino industry dedicates millions annually to responsible gaming initiatives
Atlantic City, NJ – The casinos of Atlantic City are committed to supporting responsible gaming year-round, but especially during Problem Gambling Awareness Month. Throughout March, casinos will highlight this important issue and advance new and ongoing initiatives designed to enhance the safety and enjoyment of gaming in New Jersey.
“The Casino Association of New Jersey and all of its members are dedicated to raising awareness of problem gambling and promoting responsible gaming practices,” said Mark Giannantonio, president, Casino Association of New Jersey (CANJ). “New Jersey has always been a leader in the casino industry, including in ensuring the safety of our guests, and we will continue to raise the bar for delivering fun, safe and responsible entertainment.”
New Jersey casinos adhere to strict regulations and protocols and dedicate millions of dollars each year to promote responsible gaming. Across Atlantic City, casinos implement a comprehensive range of initiatives to protect the health and well-being of patrons, including:
- Casino gaming taxes and fees contribute approximately $4 million annually to support state-designated organizations including the Council on Compulsive Gaming and other programs that promote responsible gaming and provide critical services to individuals seeking help.
- Atlantic City casinos actively promote the 1-800-GAMBLER hotline to increase public awareness of problem gambling and connect individuals with prevention, treatment, and recovery resources.
- The casino industry maintains comprehensive responsible gaming programs to assist individuals who may be experiencing signs of problem gambling.
- Atlantic City casinos provide employees with ongoing training and education to recognize and appropriately respond to signs of problem gambling.
- The casino industry’s advertising and marketing initiatives reflect and reinforce its commitment to responsible gaming practices.
