Governor-elect Sherrill ran a remarkable campaign fiercely focused on lowering costs for working families and creating jobs. She ran a campaign centered on New Jersey values, American values, and the values of the Democratic Party. And tonight, Donald Trump and Jack Ciattarelli learned the hard way that there are consequences for betraying working families. Governor-elect Sherrill’s victory, along with Abigail Spanberger’s victory earlier tonight in Virginia, is the beginning of our Democratic resurgence. The American people are sick of Republicans putting the elites first, tired of Trump ignoring the tens of millions of families that bust their asses every day just to get by, and tired of watching the GOP turn our beloved country into a playground for billionaires.
