A Landmark First Step Toward a Smart-City Future and Innovation District

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, NJ – The Borough of Englewood Cliffs and LG CNS America Inc. will formalize a groundbreaking public-private partnership with a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing ceremony and press conference on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at 2:00 PM at LG CNS America Headquarters, 111 Sylvan Avenue, Englewood Cliffs, NJ.

This partnership is more than a technology agreement, it marks the launch of Englewood Cliffs’ bold commitment to becoming a smart-city-ready municipality, powered by corporate collaboration, innovation-driven policy, and digital equity. The MOU with LG CNS is the Borough’s first major step toward creating a future-forward Technology and Innovation District, envisioned to bring emerging technologies, workforce training, and sustainable infrastructure into the heart of the community.

The ceremony will be emceed by Councilman Tim Koutroubas, who played a pivotal role in advancing this initiative. He, Councilman Rashid Patel, Chair of the Borough’s Technology Committee, as well as Councilman Philip Liang member of the Technology Committee helped spearhead the policy framework and stakeholder engagement that brought this partnership to fruition, working in close coordination with Borough Administrator Intashan Chowdhury and LG CNS.

Mayor Mark M. Park stated: “This MOU signifies a turning point. With LG CNS as a partner, Englewood Cliffs is not only embracing innovation, but we are also building the foundations of a Smart City and Technology and Innovation District in the East Coast that reflects the values and aspirations of our community. We’re ready to lead.”

Under the MOU, the Borough and LG CNS will explore collaboration on:

• Deployment of smart poles and smart infrastructure
• Application of AI, digital twins, and IoT technologies
• Enhancing cybersecurity and data resilience
• Internship opportunities and workforce readiness programs for New Jersey residents
