HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT ZACK METZGER WINS FRHSD SEAT
Youngest Member in Board History

[Howell, New Jersey, November 2025] — Lifelong Howell resident Zack Metzger at Colts Neck High School senior has been elected to represent Howell on the Freehold Regional High School District Board of Education, winning in a landslide with an unofficial total of 10,473 votes – 67.31% of the vote.

At just 18 years and 12 days old on Election Day, Metzger becomes the youngest member ever elected to the FRHSD Board and one of the youngest elected officials in New Jersey history.

Metzger said he looks forward to advocating for key priorities, including investments in school infrastructure, student health, 21st-century skills, and restoration of academic rigor.

“It’s incredible to see how many people came out to support our campaign,” said Metzger. “I couldn’t have done it without the countless friends, family members, and community figures that offered me guidance and support.”

Metzger also expressed gratitude to his close friend and campaign manager, Matthew Kouveliotes. Kouveliotes was responsible for the campaign’s digital presence and social media strategy.

“It’s crazy to think that this campaign started at a Panera Bread table with a dream. Since then, it has grown into a town-wide movement,” said Kouveliotes.

Metzger will assume office on January 10th, 2026 at the FRHSD Board of Education reorganization meeting.
