New Jersey Citizen Action And Make the Road Action Endorse James Solomon For Jersey City Mayor

Two Leading Progressive Organizations Back Solomon For Mayor

Jersey City, NJ  -  James Solomon picked up more momentum today with the endorsements of two major progressive organizations New Jersey Citizen Action and Make the Road Action.  The progressive organizations join a growing list, including the Working Families Party, Hotel & Gaming Trades Council and more who are backing Solomon’s campaign for mayor.

“James has proven himself to be a bold, principled leader who puts working families first. He will fight for a $20 minimum wage in Jersey City, living wage standards in city contracts, and public investments in local transportation, pools, and community services that families depend on,” said NJ Citizen Action Executive Director Dena Mottola Jaborska. “He is the only candidate refusing campaign donations from developers and vulture capitalists, and he has a clear plan to expand affordable housing, strengthen tenant protections, and hold bad landlords accountable. James supports the idea of a state Community Reinvestment Act, with focus on development of south Jersey City. His track record of building statewide progressive coalitions shows he has both the vision and the backbone to deliver. With James Solomon as Mayor, Jersey City will be a city where everyone, not just the wealthy, can live and call home.”

Nedia Morsy, Director of Make the Road Action New Jersey, said: “James Solomon has consistently stood shoulder to shoulder with immigrant, working-class, and tenant communities. At a time when Trump and MAGA extremists threaten our communities, we need a mayor who will not only resist their attacks but also deliver real relief for families living paycheck to paycheck. James has proven he has the vision and backbone to make Jersey City a place where all residents,no matter their income, immigration status, or background, can live and thrive. That’s why we are proud to endorse his campaign for Mayor.”

James Solomon said: “It is an honor to have Make the Road Action and New Jersey Citizen Action’s endorsement in our campaign to change Jersey City so we can create a truly affordable city. Together, we will ensure justice for workers, invest in our communities and ensure we have a livable and affordable city where everyone can thrive. With one month to go, our campaign has all the momentum in this race and with organizations like Make the Road Action and New Jersey Citizen Action on our side I know we will win.”
