Now Accepting Applications – WPCNJ Fellowship 2026: Empowering Emerging Women Leaders in New Jersey

The Women’s Political Caucus of New Jersey (WPCNJ) is proud to announce the launch of the 2026 WPCNJ Fellowship, a selective, skills-based program designed to support emerging women leaders across New Jersey who share our mission of increasing women's participation in government and public life. 

This multi-partisan initiative, supported by the WPCNJ Education and Training Fund (501c3), offers practical training, strategic networking, and mentorship through six dynamic sessions. The Fellowship is designed to equip participants with the expertise and confidence to lead and influence change at every level.

“Through the WPC Fellowship, we are helping the next generation build the skills, networks, and leadership tools they need to make a difference,” said Chrissy Buteas, Chair, WPC NJ Education and Training Fund.

Eligibility:

Applicants should have 2–5 years of professional experience in any branch of government, nonprofit organizations that intersect with government, advocacy work, government affairs, or electoral campaigns. We welcome passionate, driven applicants committed to the WPCNJ mission of advancing reproductive freedom and increasing women’s participation in government and public life.Program Structure & Session Topics:

The fellowship consists of six interactive Saturday sessions, each focusing on a core facet of leadership and public service:

  • Foundations of Public Leadership
  • Governmental Overview: How Policy is Shaped
  • Lobbying & Advocacy
  • Local Politics
  • Demystifying Economic Policy & the State Budget
  • Communicating for Impact & Unwritten Rules for Success

Each session features expert speakers, hands-on training, and invaluable mentorship opportunities. Fellows will graduate with enhanced skills, a robust network, and a deeper understanding of New Jersey’s political landscape.

  1. Complete the online application form & send resume to info@wpcnj.org by October 17
  2. Selected applicants will be invited for an interview in November
  3. Selected Fellows will be notified by email in December

There is no fee to attend this program but participation in every session is required.
