Passaic County Board of Commissioners to Host Hot Dinner Distribution for Families Impacted by Federal Shutdown

PATERSON, NJ – In response to the ongoing federal government shutdown and its impact on residents relying on federal assistance programs, the Passaic County Board of County Commissioners will host a Hot Dinner Distribution on Thursday, November 6, at Passaic County Senior Services, 930 Riverview Drive, Suite 200, Totowa from 5:00PM – 7:00PM.

The event is designed to support families and individuals affected by delays in SNAP benefits and other federal aid programs. The County’s Senior Services team, in partnership with community volunteers, will prepare and distribute 200 hot dinners. Pre-registration is required to ensure availability.

“Passaic County is stepping up once again to make sure our families have access to nutritious, comforting meals during this difficult time,” said Commissioner Deputy Director Sandi Lazzara. “We know many residents are feeling the strain of the shutdown, and we want them to know they are not alone. Our community and Passaic County are here to help.”

The Thursday hot dinners are part of the County’s broader emergency food response efforts, which include the Passaic County Pantry Partners SNAP Bag Program and mobile pantry distributions taking place across the County this week.

Residents currently enrolled in SNAP are required to bring their EBT/SNAP card and a photo ID when picking up their meal.
