Secaucus University Hospital, an acute care facility within the Hudson Regional Health (HRH) system, has been recognized as a leader in patient care, earning a spot on Castle Connolly’s 2026 Top Hospitals list. The hospital earned Castel Connelly’s prestigious distinction as a top hospital in New Jersey for Orthopedic and Spine Surgery.

Castle Connolly Top Hospitals recognizes the nation's leading healthcare institutions. The 2026 list includes 1,663 Top Hospitals, selected from over 6,000 hospitals nationwide. These hospitals were evaluated for their overall excellence, as well as their performance in six specialties and nineteen procedures.

In 2018, spine surgeons at HRH in Secaucus, through the newly formed Institute for Robotic Surgery became the first in the New York tri-state area to employ the ExcelsiusGPS Robotics Guidance and Navigation System, offering a modern, less invasive alternative for spinal surgery candidates. It is one of only a select few medical centers in the country to offer this technology that decreases operation times, improves accuracy, reduces exposure to radiation, and improves recovery.

Additionally, HRH’s Secaucus facility is Hudson County’s exclusive provider of Mazor Robotics, which provides robotic assistance and 3D modeling software for greater accuracy during spine surgery. Likewise, HRH utilizes the state-of-the-art Da Vinci XI Robotic System for 3D high-definition vision, and finger-like instruments that navigate better than the human hand.

In 2022, HRH and its Institute for Robotic Surgery received the first ever accreditation from the Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) for Excellence in Care in Spine Surgery.
