32BJ SEIU Announces Endorsements in Hoboken, Hillside, and Legislative Races Across New Jersey

32BJ SEIU, the largest property services union in the country, today announced a new round of endorsements for the 2025 election season, highlighting key local and legislative races in Hoboken, Hillside, and several State Assembly districts.
“Working families need leaders at every level of government who understand their struggles and will fight for fair wages, affordable housing, and safe communities,” said Ana Maria Hill, 32BJ SEIU Vice President and New Jersey State Director. “The candidates we are endorsing have demonstrated that commitment, and our members are ready to mobilize to help elect them this November.”
Hoboken
32BJ SEIU proudly endorses the following slate of candidates, including Emily Jabbour for Mayor and two Council-at-large members who share the union’s commitment to working people:
- Councilman Joe Quintero – Council at-Large
- Caitlin Layson Namin – Council at-Large
Hillside
In Hillside, the union reaffirmed its support for a slate of local leaders who have consistently stood with working families and are committed to building a stronger community:
- Dahlia Vertreese – Mayor
- Councilman Robert Rios – Council at-Large
- Josianne “Josie” Payoute – Council at-Large
- Stephen D. Wilson – 2nd Ward Council
- Sonya McBurrows – Council at-Large
New Legislative Endorsements
In addition to existing endorsements, 32BJ SEIU is endorsing the following candidates in legislative races across the state:

Senate (Special Election)
- Benjie Wimberly – Legislative District 35
Assembly
- Dan Hutchison – Legislative District 4
- Cody Miller – Legislative District 4
- Steve Pylypchuk – Legislative District 25
- Alexander “Avi” Schnall – Legislative District 30
- Katie Brennan – Legislative District 32
“All of these candidates share our values of equity, inclusion, and opportunity,” Hill added. “From city halls to the State House, we are backing people who will fight for workers’ rights and ensure New Jersey remains a place where working people can thrive.”
