Murphy: Government has to Work ‘Harder and Faster’ to Restore Trust in Their Water
Governor Phil Murphy this morning acknowledged that government has to work faster and harder to restore residents’ trust in their water.
County Executive Joe DiVincenzo, Freeholder President Brendan Gill and others are “doing just that,” Murphy noted.
“We are all committed to getting this right,” he added.
Government’s short-term focus continues to be on testing the water and giving residents access to drinking water. The long term focus is permanent replacement of the city’s lead service lines.
The state has designated $12.2 million in the first year.
