Governor Sherrill Welcomes Moroccan Ambassador to NJ

BASKING RIDGE - Standing on a Kentucky Bluegrass Field at the Pingry School, Governor Mikie Sherrill today formally welcomed Morocco to New Jersey in advance of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Morocco is one of four World Cup teams that will train in New Jersey during the world's largest sporting event, scheduled from June 11th to July 19th. The others are Brazil, Senegal, and Haiti.

The Governor appeared with Youssef Amrani, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to the United States, and Timothy Lear, President of the Pingry School.

Governor Sherrill arrived at the head of a golf cart caravan, which included the other leaders, including Miller Bugliari, legendary Pingry School soccer coach.
