Adinaro Tapped as State’s New Deputy Commish of Public Health

Dr. David Adinaro will join the New Jersey Commission of Health as the Deputy Commisioner of Public Health Services, Commissioner Judith Persichilli announced today.

A 17-year veteran of the emergency room at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, he was chief of emergency medicine.

“We’re excited to welcome him to the team, and he will be starting on Monday,” Persichilli said.

Adinaro steps in as the deputy Health Commissioner in the aftermath of the departure of Christopher Neuwirth as assistant commissioner for the Division of Public Health, Infrastructure, Laboratories and Emergency Preparedness, who sued the administration.

According to NJ.com:

Neuwirth said he was abruptly fired after raising concerns within the department about the ethics of providing scarce specimen collection supplies to people connected to the governor.
