Albio had a patronage job in the Kean Administration. He and Jose worked in DCA under John Renna. They, along with Lee Lichtenberger, Ron Dario, Charlie Catrillio and Billy Connolly were helpful in establishing a GOP presence in Hudson County. In the 80s, we elected were Republican freeholders and even GOP Assemblymen for a short period of time. Albio took the easy way out and switched parties after he lost a mayoral race as a Republican. Even though he went on the be an Assemblyman, Speaker and Congressman, he will remain a turncoat.
