Assembly Health Committee Passes ‘Address Confidentiality Program for Reproductive Health Service Employees and Clients’

The Assembly Health Committee this morning passed A-1861, which would establish an “Address Confidentiality Program for Reproductive Health Service Employees and Clients.”

The bill is similar to the current Address Confidentiality Program for domestic violence victims, set out in R.S.47:4-1 et seq., which allows victims of domestic violence to establish an alternate mailing address and keep their actual address confidential.

Assemblyman Herb Conaway (D-7) sponsored the bill.

Prior to calling for a vote on a substitute of the bill, Conaway noted the societal rise of hate crimes and extreme behavior.
