Backing Sherrill in Guv Contest, Pou Ready for 2026 Fight

PATERSON - On the same day that the Bureau of Labor Statistics showed the unemployment rate ticking up to 4.3%, U.S. Rep. Nellie Pou (D-9) went on offense against the policies of President Donald J. Trump and their impact on her constituents.

In an interview here in the Silk City with InsiderNJ, Pou also said she intends to run for reelection to the 9th District Congressional seat.

In addition, she discussed the developing gubernatorial contest and the candidacy of her candidate and House colleague, U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherill (D-11).

Watch the (FULL!) interview here:

Pou won her congressional seat in 2024, prevailing in a tough race against Republican Billy Prempeh, 51-46%.

Republicans are more surgically targeting the district this year and Pou said she's ready.
