“The powerful want us to believe that our problems are all so different, as if struggling to pay your rent or struggling to pay your mortgage doesn’t put you in the same boat,” said Mayor Ras J. Baraka. “I’m tired of hearing folks say that is a city problem, or that is a suburban problem in New Jersey. We are the most densely populated state in the nation, affordable housing is our problem, safe neighborhoods and good schools are our goals, public transportation is a regional issue and climate change certainly has no borders. This isn’t a house party tour of just Essex and Hudson counties, it’s Somerset and Monmouth and Atlantic and every other county in this state because New Jerseyans are struggling under the weight of our artificial divides and we need a leader who’s willing to pull them down.”

The “Rollin’ with Ras Block Party Tour 2024” is not just a campaign tour; it is a celebration of community, unity, and the power of grassroots engagement. Mayor Baraka will be hosted by folks and families across the state, creating opportunities for residents to come together, voice their opinions, and hear firsthand about his plans to move New Jersey forward.

The tour will kick off tonight in Somerville, Somerset.
