EWING, NJ – Carl Benedetti Jr., three-term Ewing Board of Education Member, dropped out of the race for the 15th Legislative District Assembly seat and endorsed his opponent, Mercer County Freeholder Anthony Verrelli of Hopewell.

“I’m proud to endorse Anthony Verrelli to be the next Assemblyman representing the 15th Legislative District,” Benedetti said. “I know he will be the progressive champion we need to not just fight for our Democratic values in the Statehouse, but to also bring more resources into the district to fully fund our schools and improve our infrastructure. I know he will represent us with integrity and I fully support him.”
Verrelli has the additional endorsements of Mercer County Executive Brian Hughes, Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson Trenton Council President Kathy McBride and Freeholder Director Lucy Walter, among others.

“Securing Carl’s endorsement means a great deal to me and to our campaign,” Verrelli said. “I admire the work that he’s done in Ewing and I know he’s got a very bright future ahead of him. If elected, I look forward to working with him to improve public education in the 15th District and ensure that every town in the 15th has the resources it needs to provide the highest quality of education possible to our students.”

The special election is on July 26th.
