Brown Moves Forward with Plan to Run for Mayor of Paterson

Glenn L. Brown, the former director of public safety for the City of Paterson, wants to run for mayor of the besieged North Jersey city.

Sitting Mayor Jose “Joey’ Torres is under indictment and awaiting trial on corruption charges, and Brown wearies of the ravages.

“Based upon recent events that have affected the City of Paterson and its reputation I have created an exploratory committee to seek election for the office of Mayor in 2018,” Brown said. “I feel compelled to explore this possibility due to the grave concerns about the level of corruption and other major issues facing the City of Paterson.

“The City of Paterson and its residents deserve leaders they can trust and a leader who will put an end to the corrupt practices and incompetence,” he added. “I will bring that change to the City of Paterson.”

At present, At-Large Councilman Alex Mendez and educator Manny Martinez are already in the citywide contest. Councilman Bill McKoy and Councilman Andre Sayegh are also likely prospects for a run.
