Cardinale Says He Opposes ‘Stealing Premium Payers’ Money’

State Senator Gerry Cardinale (R-39) plans to vote no on S-4, state Senator Joe Vitale’s (D-19) controversial Horizon restructuring bill.

“I do not like Vitale’s bill,” Cardinale told INsiderNJ.  “If the premiums are too much ,we should give the money back to the premium payers. If there is a situation where we require ads on television telling people not to take drugs, we should fund but not by stealing premium payers’ money.”

Cardinale said he intends to vote no on the bill when it goes before the senate on Thursday.

“I’ve been getting a lot mail and phone calls on this issue and all of it has been against the bill,” the Bergen GOP senator said.
