Carpenters to Get Behind Verrelli in LD15; and Other Names in the Game

Verrelli

The likely departure by Assemblywoman Liz Muoio (D-15) to the Murphy Administration as the state’s new treasurer, as reported by Politico, frees up an assembly seat, and the Carpenters already have a candidate.

The powerful labor organization will be behind Carpenters Business Agent Anthony Verrelli of Hopewell Twp., a Mercer County Freeholder, to be Muoio’s replacement.

But sources say the contest for the empty seat will be nuts and others are likely to be very much in the mix.

Names include Sam Frisby, Vanessa Sandom, Dave DelVechio, Chris Bobbitt, Kamal Khanna, Sarah Steward, and Jennifer Keyes Maloney.

Factions were on the move on Wednesday morning.

More later.
