CD7 Flashpoint: Jois Moves Forward with Democratic Primary Candidacy

Goutam Jois, the Summit attorney running for Congress who put together $259K cash on hand, will move forward with a Democratic Primary challenge in CD7.

“Absolutely,” he told InsiderNJ.

“Yes, we’ll be filing today,” Joey Novick, Jois’ campaign manager, added. “Our slogan is ‘Democrats #Resist,’ because the grassroots support for our campaign will make the difference this year. It’s also the first time we are aware that a hashtag has been used in a slogan.”

CD7 Democratic frontrunner Tom Malinowski, who won all the county lines in CD7, and social worker Peter Jacob, who ran in 2016 and lost to U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-7), have already filed to run in the primary.
