Conaway Says He’s Not Going, but these Names Circulate if He Does

Starting a new job at the Burlington County Health Department, Assemblyman Herb Conaway (D-7) says he does not intend to retire from the Legislature.

Inevitably, there is strong speculation that he will exit, however.

There’s buzz in BurlCo at this hour.

Some names in the game if Conaway goes include:

Burlington City Mayor Barry Conaway;

Willingboro Councilman Darvis Holley;

Moorsetown attorney Katie Hartman;

Burlington Township Mayor Brian Carlin;

and Mickey Quinn, deputy executive director for the NJ General Assembly.

The Assemblyman’s cousin, Barry Conaway is a favorite, one source said. He built his own organization in Burlington City without help from the county.

All that said, again, it’s unlikely Conaway takes off sooner than 2021.
