InsiderNJ would like to extend formal condolences to Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop.

Mayor Fulop’s 43-year old brother Daniel died yesterday.

It was a terrible shock to the close-knit Fulop family.

Daniel Fulop was one of three brothers who learned a strong work ethic in their parents’ Newark deli and rose individually to prominence in their respective fields.

Mr. Fulop was CEO of Related Financial Services and a Managing Director of Related Companies, one of the most prominent real estate companies in the USA, cited  as the largest single user of EB-5 financing. A graduate of Rutgers University, he spoke five languages, and was proud to be a New York City-born first generation child of parents that immigrated to the United States in 1970.

He died while traveling in Vietnam.
