Corrado Slaps Away at Murphy after Release of COVID-19 Report

Senator Kristin Corrado, Assemblyman Kevin Rooney and Assemblyman Christopher DePhillips release a statement condemning the donation of $2500 contribution by former Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino to the Democratic candidate for Morris County Sheriff.

Senator Kristin Corrado (R-40) released the following statement regarding the results of the Independent Review of New Jersey’s pandemic response:

“Governor Murphy spent $9 million on a report that told us what we already knew – he failed to protect those who were willing to give their lives to protect our country. The Murphy Administration’s incompetency caused deaths in our State’s Veterans nursing homes, deaths which the leadership of these homes tried to cover up. Governor Murphy ignored countless calls to help these veterans and instead of spending millions on yet another report showing the Murphy administration’s failures during the pandemic, he should get to work making sure this never happens again.”

  1. And why do you think you he had it made up for then? To help us or hurt us?? Really do you have to??

  2. The COVID-19 Report is an after action report – to learn from, hopefully. The decisions made were tragic and no one is being held accountable. First, we were immediately mandated to close down and distance oneself from your neighbors and in the next breathe – march in the streets! Contradictory directives, at best.
The results of school closures- and NJ kept their schools closed the longest – are devasting. The science was there all along and was ignored and considered rubbish. Our children are the collateral damage and we will feel the effect of this for years.
It is hard to come to terms with this, especially if it affected you in a life changing way. Governor Murphy stated at the height of the pandemic that a lot of it, “Was above his pay grade.” That certainly does not give you a sense of comfort. So yes, an after action report is needed so we learn from our mistakes. And shame on those who do not have the moral conviction to admit being wrong.
