Feliciano Announces Bid for City Council at-Large in 2022 Trenton Municipal Election

Community Activist Crystal Feliciano today is scheduled to formally announce her entrance in the 2022 Trenton Municipal Election as a candidate for City Council at-Large.

The Trenton Central High School finance teacher and community activist serves as the 1st Vice President of the Trenton Democratic Committee after being reelected for a second two-year committee term in 2020.

After actively working throughout the community for numerous years in various capacities, Feliciano is now seeking a role in public service as she announces her run for Trenton City Council at-Large in next year’s Municipal Election.

Feliciano is expected to speak about the need for transformational and authentic leadership in Trenton and restoring a sense of pride among Trentonians by supporting economic development and public engagement policies.

Community Activist Crystal Feliciano today announced her candidacy for City Council at-Large in the 2022 Trenton Municipal Election during an event held at The Lobby Club on E. Front Street in Trenton, where she was surrounded by an array of family, friends, and supporters.

In her announcement, Feliciano spoke about the need for transformational, authentic leadership in the city and restoring a sense of pride among Trentonians by supporting economic development and public engagement policies.

“For too long, our residents have endured the negative impacts of what happens when leadership in Trenton cannot work together and find common ground for the people’s good,” she said. “Trentonians are tired of the crude interactions between our local officials. Our residents want and deserve leaders who will support and produce sound economic development measures, public safety, and youth-centered initiatives. It’s time for a change, and that is why I am running for City Council at- Large.”

A Trenton Native, Feliciano is a constant force in the city. She is the Founder of two community-focused nonprofit organizations, the Giayana Monae Genesis Foundation and Project MOVE (Making Our Visions Evident). After receiving formal proclamations from former Mayor Eric E. Jackson and current Mayor W. Reed Gusciora, Crystal and partners Donyale Thompson and Steve Cooke annually host Trenton Fashion Week, highlighting talents within Trenton and the surrounding areas in the realm of fashion. The organization raises funds to support youth who experience partial or total hair loss due to alopecia areata, cancer, or other extenuating circumstances during the annual fashion show. Through Project MOVE, Feliciano hosts community beautification projects and civic engagement activities to educate and prepare people to be active and engaged community members.

The candidate is a member of the Trenton Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.; the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Inc.- Pi Chapter; a Top Lady of Distinction, being inducted with Trenton’s First Music Ambassador Sarah Dash. She is a member of the National Congress of Black Women, the Lawrence Township League of Women Voters, and the Trenton Blue Wave Committee. Crystal hosts her own podcast, All the Chatter, and is a correspondent for the local social media news outlet, Peterson Breaking News of Trenton, created by Thomas Peterson. She also works part-time as a Principal Accountant at Trenton Water Works.
