In First Campaign Ad, CD11’s Sherrill Focuses on Her Record, and the Need for Bipartisanship in Congress

Running for the seat currently occupied by retiring U.S. Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen (R-11), Democrat Mikie Sherrill today in her first campaign ad of the 2018 general election season highlighted her military service as a U.S. Navy helicopter pilot and her work as a federal prosecutor.

The 30-second, six-figure ad buy will run on cable and digital starting today, August 7th.

“For decades the people of New Jersey have been footing the bill and paying the price of Congress’ inability to work in a bipartisan manner with input from both parties,” Sherrill says in the ad. “That’s why I’m running for Congress.  We need new leadership in Congress and leaders who will put partisan politics aside to get the job done for families and the communities they serve – especially here in New Jersey.”

Sherrill won the Democratic primary with over 70% of the vote and now faces Assemblyman Jay Webber (R-26) in one of the most watched battleground congressional contests of the 2018 cycle.

  1. Typical political ad. Tell people what they want to hear, knowing the Pelosi and Hoyer will never let bipartisanship happen. Remember, “we have to pass it before we can see what’s in it.”
