MARLTON- With 43 days until Election Day, CD3 challenger Andy Kim held a town hall today at Gibson House, directly beneath the offices of his rival, where he renewed his pledge to expunge what he called “big money” from American politics.

Democrat Kim – who pledged at the outset to run without taking corporate PAC money – is running against U.S. Rep. Tom MacArthur (R-3) in one of the most-watched contests of the general election season.

On this occasion he appeared with Tiffany Muller, President and Executive Director of End Citizens United, an organization elevating the issue of money in politics as a top priority. Kim will fight to eliminate the corrupt influence of corporate money in politics and bring transparency back to government,” said Muller.

“It is time for the government of the people and by the people to again work for the people,” she added.

Kim went off.

“I promise you I will never become a lobbyist after time working in Congress. For too long we see members of congress focused on that big payout they thing they’re going to get afterwards,” said the candidate.

“That’s disgusting,” he added.

Kim said he wants to dedicated his time to eliminating Citizens United.

“It’s no secret a lot of people like to be in congress because they are committees that connect them to corporate donors. I want to be a champion of legislation that prohibits contributions by corporations that have interests on the committees where lawmakers serve,” he added.

The candidate said he also wants to limit the influence of foreign money on campaigns and elections.
