Assembly Democrats General Counsel Brian Quigley – a prized and respected legal intellect – is moving on to the next stage of his professional life.

He announced his decision today to Assembly leadership.

A Rutgers University Law School graduate, Quigley proved invaluable to the majority office as a “legislative lawyer” in his words and, according to the New Jersey Law Journal, played a “key role in revamping important internal policy at the Legislature in 2018.”

The Journal selected Quigley as its 2019 Professional Excellence honoree, bestowing upon him the Legal Departments of the Year and GC Impact Award.

Veteran defense attorney Joe Hayden worked with Quigley during the Katie Brennan hearings.

“He is the consummate lawyer who believes in professional excellence, truth and due process for all involved, and that’s a rare combination,” Hayden said. “There would not have been any virtual voting but for Brian Quigley. Wherever he lands he will make a significant mark.”
