Gloucester County To Open 2nd COVID-19 Test Site Next Thursday

(Sewell, NJ)—Gloucester County will offer its second drive-thru style COVID-19 testing site on Thursday, April 16, 2020.

The county has 417 COVID-19 cases and 7 deaths as of Thursday, April 8th.

The site will again be set up at Rowan College of South Jersey, 1400 Tanyard Rd., Sewell 08080. Testing will begin at 10 a.m.

Tests will be performed by appointment only.

Residents 18 and older with symptoms of COVID-19 must call (856) 218-4142 to be prescreened. Please have your insurance information available at this time. Once prescreened an appointment time will be scheduled.

Scheduling for the Thursday, April 16 site will begin Monday, April 13 at 8:30 a.m. Any calls before that will not receive an appointment.

Residents must be symptomatic in order to receive COVID-19 testing at this time. Additional testing dates to follow.

The site is a partnership between Dr. Josette Palmer of Happy Healthy You Medical Practice, Inspira Health, Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, Cooper University Health Care, the Gloucester County Board of Chosen Freeholders, the Gloucester County Department of Health and the Gloucester County Office of Emergency Management.

The Gloucester County testing site is open to eligible Gloucester County residents only.

Proof of residency, such as a passport or driver’s license, is required. Anyone without symptoms will not be eligible for testing.

The NJDOH reports that as of Thursday, April 9th, there are 51,027 COVID-19 cases and 1700 fatalities statewide, an increase of 3,748 cases and 198 fatalities since Wednesday. Of the cases, 7,363 are hospitalized, 604 have been discharged; 846 are in critical care, 1,523 are in intensive care, and 4,619 are in medical surgical, according of NJDOH.
