GOP Dogfights in CD-5 and CD-11

In a night full of walk overs, bore snores, and gerrymandered inevitabilities, it came down to CD-5 and CD-11. Both GOP primaries in those northern congressional districts proved too close for the AP to call as of 11 p.m.

In both districts, the incumbent Democrats had early nights.

U.S. Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-5) declared victory in an uncontested Democratic Primary.

So did his colleague U.S. Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-11).

But late into the night, Republicans Frank Pallotta and Nick De Gregorio sparred in CD-5; and Tayfun Selen and Paul DeGroot scrapped in CD-11.
