In a battleground district development, the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association along with the Monmouth County Conference of PBA’s today formally endorsed Vin Gopal for State Senate, Assemblyman Eric Houghtaling, and Assemblywoman Joann Downey.
“Vin Gopal has always been a strong supporter of law enforcement in Monmouth County,” said State PBA President Patrick Colligan “He has made it clear that, if elected to the New Jersey State Senate, he intends to continue working closely with PBA leadership and our members. We intend to work very hard from now through Election Day to make sure we have Vin Gopal as a partner in the Senate and that we continue to have Eric Houghtaling and Joann Downey in the Assembly fighting for Monmouth County law enforcement.”
State PBA President Colligan and Monmouth County PBA President Mike Tardio as well as Gopal, Downey, and Houghtaling stood with over 100 law enforcement officers.
“I am honored to receive the endorsement of the NJSPBA and Monmouth County Conference of PBA’s,” said Gopal, Democratic candidate for State Senate against incumbent state Senator Jennifer Beck (R-11). “These men and women put their lives on the line to keep our families and communities safe. I am proud to stand with them as a strong supporter of our law enforcement agencies and members, and will continue to be strong advocate for them and their families in Trenton.”
