Handlin out of the Senate Race in LD13; O’Scanlon Path Clear to GOP Nomination

Assemblywoman Amy Handlin (R-13) will not run for the state senate this year as she originally intended.

Handlin last night communicated with Monmouth County Republican Chairman (and Sheriff) Shaun Golden to alert him of her intention to run for reelection to the assembly.

Handlin’s decision is a win for Assemblyman Declan O’Scanlon (R-13), who is running in the Republican-leaning district to replace retiring state Senator Joe Kyrillos (R-13).
