Holmdel School Board President Vicky Flynn officially announced her intention to seek election to the New Jersey General Assembly in District 13. Flynn intends to seek and win the support of the Monmouth County Republican Organization at their upcoming County Convention in March.
Flynn is a life-long Republican, a proud Holmdel resident, a wife, mother of three children, a lawyer in private practice, and a dedicated community leader. Flynn is known for her leadership on the Holmdel Board of Education.
In addition to fighting to get our children back in school, Flynn said she intends to work hand in hand with Assemblyman Gerry Scharfenberger to stop” the damaging Emergency Powers grabbed by Governor Murphy that are crushing small business owners throughout our district and across the state. These failed COVID policies have contributed to thousands of our loved one in long-term care facilities – and now some Trenton politicians want to strip away our rights to hold these folks to account. We can do better than liability shields for nursing homes and tax breaks for hospitals.”
Flynn said she will be a strong advocate for tax relief for our overburdened taxpayers and fight against crippling COAH policies leading to overdevelopment in our communities. She is a strong supporter of law enforcement and for keeping our kids and communities safe.
“It would be a privilege to serve Monmouth County in the legislature to address the challenging issues facing our communities, to fight for small businesses, and to find ways to get our kids back into the classroom. I believe now, more than ever, our state requires leadership that promotes fiscally conservative principles to guide our state out of the pandemic towards a more prosperous future,” she said.
Flynn added that she will be dedicated to working with the Republican party both in the County and around the state to help get Republicans elected, especially women. She has a track record of supporting Republican women pursuing elected office, she noted.
Chair of the Holmdel County Committee, Marcy McMullen, said “We need a leader like Vicky who will promote Republican party values and unity throughout the County. Vicky is the overwhelming choice of the Holmdel Republican County Committee. She supports all Republican endorsed candidates and has assisted women who want to run for public office in Holmdel. She is the best choice to lead the way in Trenton, along with Assemblyman Gerry Scharfenberger.”
