Camden County COVID-19 Count March 3

New COVID-19 cases announced in Camden County
March 3, 2021

(Gloucester Township, NJ) – The Camden County Department of Health is announcing 104 additional confirmed cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in Camden County. This brings the aggregate number of confirmed positive cases to 39,682 in Camden County today and 1,068 total fatalities.

“While we are in a much better place than we were a few months ago, we must remain vigilant in order to ensure that COVID-19 does not spike again in our community,” said County Commissioner Director Louis Cappelli, Jr. “Even with vaccinations underway, this pandemic still has the potential to do incredible damage in the coming weeks and months. Now is not the time to stop wearing masks or crowd into small, indoor spaces. Now is the time to double down and beat this virus once and for all.”

The Department of Health is announcing 104 additional positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) identified in Camden County. Trace investigations are being facilitated with the patients and remain ongoing.

In addition, the county Department of Health is also announcing 2,311 confirmed resident cases and 1,317 staff cases have occurred out of the aggregate case load of 39,682 in our 56 long-term care facilities. At this time, 459 resident deaths have been reported from these facilities, as well as seven staff deaths, out of our 1,068 total fatalities countywide.

Cape May COVID-19 Count March 3

March 3, 2021

COVID-19 Update – 3/2/21

For vaccine information on where, when, who, and how, please visit capemaycountynj.gov. The New Jersey Health Department reports that 32,021doses of the vaccine have been administered in Cape May County when combining the vaccine doses given out by the Cape May County Department of Health and other entities. This total number of doses includes a combination of first and second doses.

Demand continues to outpace the supply, and Governor Phil Murphy expressed yesterday that is he confident that New Jersey’s initial shipment of 73,600 doses of Johnson & Johnson’s new one-dose vaccine will help vaccinate more people.  The new vaccine is arriving within days, with more coming each subsequent week.

Effective March 29, eligibility will be expanded for frontline essential workers in the restaurant, food processing and distribution industries, grocery personnel, warehouse workers, remaining eldercare workers, hospitality workers, elections workers, clergy, postal and other shipping workers, and judicial system employees.  This will greatly impact local Cape May County businesses as we prepare for the reopening of businesses for the summer season.

The State has more than 1,700 providers approved to distribute vaccine, but only have enough supply to provide vaccines to approximately 300 sites. That will change as supply increases and additional appointment slots become available.

Cape May County has administered more than 32,000 vaccines to date and continues to rank in the top in the state per capita, according to NJ.Com.  That number includes both first and second shots.  As the vaccine becomes more readily available in the next few weeks the County will increase distribution through expanded appointments in addition to opening a second site located in Lower Township.

The Cape May County Department of Health is announcing today that 39 new positive test samples were collected among County residents over the past several days. While Cape May County has recorded 6944 COVID-19 cases during the pandemic, 6410 of those are now off quarantine.  Additionally, there is 1 new out of county positive case that is included in the Non-resident Active Cases below.

Sadly, we are announcing the passing a 79 year old female from Ocean City, “A thought of comfort and condolences to the grieving family,” said Commissioner Jeff Pierson.
