InsiderNJ Poll: Ciattarelli Versus Bramnick

Senator Jon Bramnick’s (R-21) decision to run for governor next year sets the stage for a showdown between Bramnick and his former legislative colleague, Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli (R-16).

Both are pretty moderate.

Moderation measured as distance from MAGA movement leader Donald J. Trump probably makes Bramnick the more Clifford Case-Millicent Fenwick-like NJ Republican.

But the presence of both in the Republican Primary certainly must have radio shock jock Bill Spadea (or another all-in Trump backer, should Spadea ultimately opt to continue his media career) gleefully rubbing his hands together at the prospect of shoring up the MAGA base in 2025.

Steve Lonegan might be unable to resist.

Or someone else who has not yet run statewide.

For the moment, with Bramnick and Ciattarelli prepared to duke it out, and as we await the next column on this subject by columnist Fred Snowflack, consider this question:

Who do you favor in a head-to-head GOP Primary matchup between JUST these two?

  1. I am not worried, nor do I care. My plans are already I motion to leave NJ and get rid of my business and employees. I am sick of the liberal trash government it should I say Giverment Socialist likes of Murphy who comes in and buys the job of Governor. Amen and May God punish him and his kind

  2. Bramnick refers to MAGA people in the most derogatory terms. His usual is CRAZIES! At least Jack doesn’t say it.

  3. I like both Jack and Jon. I think Jon is more electable and Jack is better on policy (Bramnick is a smidge too moderate for my liking).

I will say that in observing the attitudes of republicans in this matter, mainly relating to Jon’s attitude towards MAGA, I think we are doomed to lose. We can’t afford to be squabbling over loyalties in the Governor’s race. Literally any Republican would be superior to Murphy and whichever carbon copy with better teeth manages to win the primary. So, we need to pick the one who is most equipped to beat the best funded democrat. That probably means picking the one least likely to bend the knee to MAGA. I think Jon makes the most sense. I doubt the primary electorate will agree. So get ready for 8 more years of bad governance.

  4. The People’s choice as a Senator who is not a follower but a LEADER…. Who does not conform to LIES but Honesty and Sincerity to get the Peoples VOTE and help them in any way he can… He is for the PEOPLE and That is what makes him the best Contender to run as Governor of The State of New Jersey. “Change for the GOOD of THE PEOPLE.”…. Just what New Jersey needs.

  5. Biggest question on Bramnick, is his actions speak louder than words!!! His work towards all the legislative bills he has created for the Good of the people supersedes any negative discredit of an HONEST Politician like Senator Jon M. Bramnick. “Change for the GOOD of THE PEOPLE.” …. Just what New Jersey needs. Senator Bramnick for Governor of the State of NJ.
