Jones Jr., NJDSC Leadership Team Re-Elected

Tonight, Leroy J. Jones Jr. was re-elected as Chairman of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee. His leadership consisting of Vice Chair Peg Schaffer, Secretary Claribel “Clary” Azcona-Barber and Treasurer Shantè D. Palmer were all re-elected as well. This support underscores the strong coalition the Chairman has built within the NJ Democratic Party.

“I am deeply honored to be re-elected as Chairman of NJDSC and thankful for the continued trust and confidence in my leadership team,” said Chairman Jones. “A united Democratic Party will be crucial during this pivotal election year. As we look ahead, our mission is clear — we must work tirelessly, organize everywhere, and build a broad, unified coalition to elect Mikie Sherrill as New Jersey’s next governor. We also stand firm with our down ballot candidates to ensure our state house remains blue. Jack Ciattarelli wants to enact the Trump playbook of overreach and chaos in our state, but we’re ready to send him packing for the third election in a row.”

"I'm excited to support the current Executive Committee of the New Jersey Democratic State Committee — Chairman LeRoy Jones, Vice Chair Peg Schaffer, Secretary Clary Azcona-Barber, and Treasurer Shantè D. Palmer — for re-election," said Governor Phil Murphy. "Since June 2021, Chairman Jones and his team have worked tirelessly to expand the reach of our party, mobilize and persuade voters, and win elections. Through their continued leadership, I'm confident we will elect Mikie Sherrill as our next Governor and continue our important work as Democrats building a stronger and fairer economy that works for every family."
