Kivvit Bags Reed Awards

Kivvit today announced that they have been honored by the Reed Awards for ads around the Committee to Build the Economy (CBE) and Reach NJ.  The CBE ad, entitled “Back in the Water”, won for Best TV Ad For a Statewide Independent Expenditure Campaign. The Reach NJ ad, entitled “Mother’s Day”, won for Best TV Ad For a Public Affairs/Issue Advocacy Campaign.  Both ads can be viewed here.

“Kivvit is proud of the diverse work that we have done and will continue to do in New Jersey,” said Maggie Moran, Managing Partner at Kivvit.  “Kivvit has been fortunate to play a role in the most pressing policy and political issues facing our state. We look forward to continuing to help educate New Jerseyans on these and other critical matters. We are appreciative of this recognition, but what truly drives our work is being able to make an impact.”

“Back in the Water” highlighted the records of Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno and Governor Chris Christie during last year’s gubernatorial race.  It focused on issues from equal pay for women to the state’s economy to properly funding our schools.

The CBE was formed to ensure that the shared progressive values of the people of New Jersey were represented in last year’s gubernatorial election. The CBE advocated to help rebuild New Jersey’s economy by putting the interest of working class New Jersey residents first.

“Mother’s Day” tells the story of Pam Garozzo, whose son Carlos began battling drug addiction at the age of 16. Two days before Christmas 2016, Carlos overdosed in Pam’s car.  Last year was her first Mother’s Day since the death of her son. This TV ad aired in May 2017.

Reach NJ was a public awareness campaign dedicated to reducing the stigma of addiction, increasing access to help and educating New Jersey residents on the dangers of opioid and heroin addiction.  It sought to provide information and access to services for those suffering from addiction as well as their family members, and provide information on what opioids are and the dangers they present.
