Labrosse Endorses Johnson for LD37 Senate Seat

Hackensack Mayor John Labrosse released the following statement this morning regarding Senator Loretta Weinberg’s retirement and the open LD37 State Senate seat:

“Senator Loretta Weinberg will leave behind a tremendous legacy when she retires next year and big shoes for anyone to fill. I know both Assemblyman Gordon Johnson and Assemblywoman Valerie Vainieri-Huttle well and have a great deal of respect for each of them as public servants. I believe that at this moment when racial justice issues have taken such a prominent and necessary place in our national dialogue, the best thing I can do to further that cause is to offer my support to Gordon Johnson to become Bergen County’s first-ever African American State Senator.

“Gordon has established himself as a leader in Trenton on so many of the important issues facing the City of Hackensack, and I am confident that he is the ideal choice to follow in Senator Weinberg’s footsteps and continue serving the needs of our residents,” Labrosse added.
