Lance Campaign Manager Hilk Doesn’t Take Much Stock in Monmouth Poll

The Campaign Manager of U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance (R-7) this afternoon responded to the Monmouth University Poll that came out earlier today.

The poll shows the GOP getting beaten up in New Jersey and conceivably losing all their congressional seats.

“We don’t take much stock in April polls,” said Lance Campaign Manager Jim Hilk. “At the end of the day, it’s candidates and campaigns that matter on Election Day and Leonard Lance is a popular, independent-minded lawmaker that fits the congressional district to a T.

“Keep in mind that this same poll gave the President a 33 percent approval rating one month before Lt. Governor Kim Guadagno won the 7th Congressional District by 14,000 votes in 2017,” Hilk added. “Leonard Lance won the district by 38,000 votes in 2016.  7th District voters time and again have ignored presidential popularity and instead chosen down-ballot candidates based upon their own records.”
