Lawrence Councilwoman Cathleen Lewis on Monday will start as the new Deputy Chief Administrator at the NJ Motor Vehicle Commission.

She will assume the role and responsibilities of Jeanne Ashmore, who departs on May 1st.

Lewis was the Director of Public Affairs and Government Relations for AAA Northeast. Before that, she worked for New Jersey Motor Vehicle Commission from 2007 to 2010 as Senior Public Information Officer and Legislative Liaison, overseeing communication activities and formulating policy opinions on legislation. Lewis also worked for former U.S. Rep. Rush Holt (D-12).
