LD15 Flashpoint: Frisby Won’t Run, Backs Trenton’s Reynolds Jackson for Assembly Seat

Reynolds-Jackson

Mercer County Freeholder Sam Frisby issued a statement last night announcing his decision not to pursue an LD15 Assembly seat and instead throwing his support behind Trenton Councilwoman Verlina Reynolds-Jackson, a veteran of the state Department of Community Affairs.

“I do believe Verlina Reynolds-Jackson will be a strong advocate in the 15th Legislative District and I endorse her candidacy,’ said Frisby. “Councilwoman Jackson has served the City of Trenton as the East Ward Councilwoman for the past eight years and has skillfully stepped forward as the Mercer County Democratic Chair after the untimely passing of Richard McClellan.”

Reynolds-Jackson is the third candidate in the quest to succeed Acting Treasurer Liz Muoio.

Mercer County Freeholder Anthony Verrelli and West Windsor Councilwoman Ayesha Hamilton are also running for the seat.
