Lewis Ready to Assume Chairmanship of the Newark School Board

Now in the spoils of war aftermath of last week’s local election, the Newark School Advisory Board Reorganization meeting will take place on Tuesday.
Marquis-Aquil Lewis has the votes to be chair of the ten-person board, and Kim Caddy has support to be vice chair, a source swore to InsiderNJ.
The pair has the support of North Ward Democratic Chair Sammy Gonzalez, Middy Baraka, and Central Ward Operative Bishop Andre Speight. They have six votes to confirm Lewis as the chair, the source said: “the Unity Slate that [just] won; Garcia, Reginald, Flo, and Lewis, Gaddy and possibly Owens.”
