Mapp Expects to Receive Green’s Support in Plainfield Mayor’s Race

Mapp

Plainfield Mayor Adrian Mapp navigated the cars of the chamber train on the way to Washington, D.C. smiling in the company of veteran Council President Rebecca Williams and their allies Councilman Barry Goode and Joylette Mills-Ransome.

Mapp faces at least two challengers to his power this year as he pursues a second term in office, and on this afternoon he had reason to celebrate.

His longtime antagonist Assemblyman Jerry Green (who moonlights as chairman of the Union County Democratic Committee) will back Mapp for mayor again.

“Yes,” Mapp told InsiderNJ when asked if he expects to receive Green’s support.

The pair warred for years long enough for Green to Mapp four years ago, just prior to the two of them again undertaking a full fledged political war, now abated in  time for the pre election season.
