Mayor Andre Sayegh Announces a New COS and Promotion

Mayor Andre Sayegh today announced the appointment of Christian Callegari as Chief of Staff and the promotion of Dacil Tilos to Public Information Officer.

On Wednesday, November 3, 2021, Christian Callegari began his work as Chief of Staff for the City of Paterson. Regarding the appointment, Mayor Sayegh said, “As we tackle major issues such as pandemic recovery and public safety, we look forward to Christian complementing the efforts of our administration, as he brings a wealth of knowledge related to both policy and government operations. Now, more than ever, municipal government needs to be efficient in dealing with the new challenges we face daily. I am confident that Christian will be instrumental in enhancing the local quality of life for residents. We are excited to have him on board.”

Christian Callegari is a first-generation immigrant born and raised in Paterson. He previously served as Chief of Staff to Assemblyman Gary Schaer in Legislative District 36. He was instrumental in drafting and passing key legislation requiring the removal of all lead service lines in New Jersey within ten years. Callegari served as the President of the Passaic County Young Democrats and the Chairman of the New Jersey Young Democrats Latino Caucus. Christian holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Felician University and a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Rutgers University. He currently attends Rutgers Law School-Newark.

Dacil Tilos transitioned into her role as the Public Information Officer on Tuesday, September 21, 2021. Previously the Senior Communications Relations Specialist, Tilos will be leading communications with the media and community partners. She will also continue her work with special projects, including the Mayors Wellness Campaign, Sustainable Jersey, and special interest groups. Tilos immigrated from the Philippines and has called Paterson home since 1992. She is a current resident of the 1st Ward.

Della McCall-Fischer is now the Director of Community Engagement. McCall-Fischer has extensive experience working with the community and special events. In her new role, McCall-Fischer will be overseeing all City-sponsored events.
