Mayor Gusciora Announces New City Spokesperson

TRENTON, N.J. – Mayor W. Reed Gusciora announced the hiring of the new Communications Director for the City of Trenton, Santiago Melli-Huber. Melli-Huber comes to Trenton from the City of Hoboken where he was the Communications Manager.

“I’m pleased to welcome Santiago as the newest member of our team,” said Mayor Gusciora. “He did exceptional work in Hoboken and brings a wealth of experience. I look forward to working with him to keep residents informed.”

Prior to his work in Hoboken, Santiago was a reporter for the NBC affiliate based in Wichita, Kansas, focusing his coverage on local politics, immigration, and health care. He also worked as a freelance reporter for the Washington Blade in Washington, D.C. and managed communications for the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, a national nonprofit. Other work includes CNN and Current TV. Melli-Huber was born in Argentina and grew up in Gloucester County, NJ. He earned his B.A. in Journalism & Media Studies from Rutgers University and his M.S. in Journalism from Columbia University.
