Mayor Pete Buttigieg coming to NJ

Buttigieg

InsiderNJ has learned that presidential hopeful/South Bend, Indiana Mayor Pete Buttigieg will be in New Jersey next month. This new comes on the heels of a Monmouth U poll that shows Mayor Pete currently atop the leaderboard in Iowa, site of the first contest in the democratic presidential primary on Feb 3, 2020.

Sources tell InsiderNJ that Mayor Pete will be stopping by the Garden State on December 12th.

Although no details have been confirmed, InsiderNJ has learned that Ms Holdsworth, a Bergen County native and one of the Mayor Pete’s closest advisors, began calling the the Governor’s team, the Congressional delegation, legislative leadership, and other key democrats throughout the state this week to notify them as a courtesy of the mayor’s impending visit.

Mayor Pete has been to NJ before, both to rally Dems during the Democratic National Convention and to campaign for Governor Phil Murphy in 2017. This will be the mayor’s first visit to New Jersey since announcing his run for President.

Mayor Pete has a wide swathe of support in NJ already due to Ms Holdsworth’s efforts over the last 3 years and because of an ongoing organizing push led by NJ state volunteer coordinator David Grant.

“We’re so excited that Mayor Pete is coming to NJ and for his historic bid for the White House,” Mr Grant (see pic) told InsiderNJ. “He has a great deal of grassroots support in the Garden State, and we’re looking forward to continuing our efforts to spread his promise of a new era of leadership.”
