Incumbent U.S. Rep. Rob Menendez gave a beat down to challenger Mussab Ali tonight in the Hudson County-based 8th Congressional District.

With 70% of the vote tallied, Menendez received 21,735 votes (71%) to Ali's 9,006 votes (29.4%) in the Democratic Primary.

Menendez's candidacy received organizational support from the Hudson County Democratic Organization (HCDO) and perennial GOTV strongman Brian P. Stack. Hudson sources noted higher voter performance in Hudson, a consequence in part of Stack animation and voters keyed into the issues surrounding the controversial Delaney Hall ICE detention center.
