Menendez to Murphy: ‘I Think You’re Starting off Great. You Havent Screamed at a Teacher and You Haven’t Closed a Bridge’

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Apparently the bar is pretty low, or at least U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ) thinks so.

In his speech at the Chamber Dinner, Menendez turned to Governor Phil Murphy and said, “I think you’re starting off great. You haven’t screamed at a teacher and you haven’t closed a bridge.”

Up for reelection this year, Menendez, who survived a corruption trial last year, said,  “This delegation is a bipartisan effort. We may have policy disagreements, but when it comes to New Jersey, we are one voice.”
