Menendez Won’t Run In Democratic Primary, But…
…the embattled Senator remains hopeful that he can pursue re-election as an independent. Menendez released a video on his Facebook page making the announcement.
Menendez said he ‘will not file for the Democratic primary this June‘ but remains ‘hopeful that my exoneration will take place this summer and allow me to pursue my candidacy as an independent Democrat in the general election’.
He added that he is aware that many New Jerseyans are ‘hurt and disappointed with me with the accusations I’m facing’, and urged voters to ‘withhold judgement until justice takes place’.
