Montvale Mayor Mike Ghassali has decided against pursing the CD5 seat currently occupied by U.S. Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-5).

“I have a lot going on in my town, it’s not the time now to abandon the ship, so I will not be running for the CD5 seat,” Ghassali told InsiderNJ.

Ghassali said at this time he is not supporting anyone in particular for the seat. Warren County Freeholder Jason Sarnoski and attorney John McCann are currently trying to build support, while former Bogota Mayor Steve Lonegan likewise has his eye on the seat.
